“The issue of taking Formula 907 of the Freedom Act out of force may be discussed during the visit of the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliev to the US”, said Jim Kolbey in Baku according to “Trend” news agency. According to this Act the US can’t provide governmental aid for Azerbaijan because of the blockade on Armenia. Kolbey said that during his visit the Azeri president will have the chance to also meet with congressmen, but anyhow this issue would depend on the US Congress department of foreign aid. “The formula may be fully taken out till the final resolution of the Karabagh conflict. The important thing is not to take it out, but the fact that its application has always been frozen during these last five years”, said Jim Kolbey.
