Dropping ultimatum to Arthur Baghdasaryan

18/04/2006

According to our source Arthur Baghdasaryan is very disappointed about some MPs representing their party for not doing what he said and for not voting “no” during the election of the governmental program of privatizations in 2001-2003. Several “Rule of Law” MPs abstained during the vote. According to our information after Arthur Baghdasaryan argued that these MPs are not doing what he had said, they presented a written application to him stating that they were independent and could leave the party any time they wanted. According to our information the names of the MPs that signed under the mentioned application are the following: Khachik Petrosyan, Grigor Margaryan, Sayad Zakharyan, Alexan Petrosyan, Samvel Shahgaldyan and Melik Manoukyan. But A. Petrosyan and M. Manukyan denied this during our conversation with them. “I am 100% sure that it is not right. Baghdasaryan is my friend and I just can’t do that to my friend”, said A. Petrosyan. “I haven’t written anything like that, and will never do. I respect him very much. If I have problems to solve I will solve them directly, but will never write any applications”, said M. Manukyan and denied the rumors saying that he had joined another party. We also asked him what he thought about excluding Artak Sargsyan from “Rule of Law” for not being against that program. “I am not involved in politics because I am a businessman. This is our principle and Arthur Baghdasaryan doesn’t put any pressure on businessmen to go along with their decisions. He is democratic. This is the first time that I am hearing such a thing”, said A. Petrosyan. As for M. Manukyan, he said, “If they made a decision to exclude him, that’s their business”. Another member of “Rule of Law”, Sayad Zakharyan, said that though he hadn’t been informed in detail about excluding A. Sargsyan out of their party, but thought that “he could hardly be excluded from the party”. “He did what he did on his own, probably this is the reason why he was excluded. Our party is democratic and hardly anyone can be excluded just because he has expressed his personal opinion”, said S. Zakharyan.

These representatives of “Rule of Law” are the kinds of businessmen that don’t have any problems with anything in this country. And they can leave the party any time they want being sure that the only one to lose from this will be Arthur Baghdasaryan.
