Leader of the “Heritage” political party Raffi Hovhannisyan held a meeting with the party’s active members yesterday at the Writers’ Union of Armenia. During the meeting, Raffi Hovhannisyan gave a total picture of the current situation in Armenia and his approaches to solving the issues at hand. According to the leader of “Heritage”, November 27, 2005 was the continuation of the bloody tragedy of October 27, 1999 if we look at it from the historic and political perspectives. Hovhannisyan is of the opinion that Armenians today are losing moral values. There were no other oppositionist leaders during the meeting yesterday. The only people present were representatives of the intellectual forum. One of them, academician Rafael Ghazaryan proposed “applying force against the powerful” and as force, the academician envisions the civic society to which the “authorities of the chaos” can’t do anything against. You got the impression that everyone present at the meeting was there to say one thing: the fact that Raffi Hovhannisyan is the one clean and honest individual who can lead the country to a prosperous future and most of the speakers were encouraging him to move forward, be initiative and practice his leadership skills.
One of the proposals was to create a civic society by forming “immunity groups”. During the meeting, the party members informed the people present that they plan on paying visits to the Marzes of Armenia and hold a session near the end of May.
