On April 1, at around 3:35 p.m. the Armavir police department received a call from the Armavir municipal hospital. The call was to inform the police about a resident of the Janfida village of the Armavir Marz Rustam R. Gasparyan, whose left hand and feet had been shot. According to sources, Gasparyan is head of the administration of the Land Defenders Union in Armavir. Police and prosecutors visited the hospital and found out that Gasparyan had been injured the same day at 3:00 p.m. near the Armavir cadastre building where he had parked his own “Hummer” 02OU444 car. Just when Gasparyan was approaching his car, a group of anonymous people came out of the sixth building located on Republic Street and fired shots at him. Then they had left. The prosecutors who had gone to the scene of the crime, had found out that there were more than 15 bullet shots on the “Hummer” 02OW444. Just 200 meters away from the scene of the crime was a VAZ 21-07 car with the license plate reading 28OU785. The prosecutors investigated the car, found and confiscated 3 guns, two of which were full of 60 bullets 5.45 mm in diameter. The first gun had not bullets. According to our sources, the car belongs to resident of the 6th building on 47 Border-watchers’ street Samson Poghosyan who, according to witnesses, fled the scene of the crime in another car. A case has been brought up. Prosecutors are after S. Poghosyan. The guns found in the car have been sent to the Police Department of Armenia for investigation.
