The reader’s “citadel”

02/04/2006

This “citadel” in the neighborhood of Yerevan children’s library named after Khnko Aper belongs to the former head of Armenian taxation board, former head of the president’s staff Artashes Tumanyan. This construction is located very close to the library and closes the only fire protection exit door of the library. The library staff has sent a lot of letters to different bodies complaining about this construction but they haven’t received any answers yet. Artashes Tumanyan has always recalled the name of writer Hrant Matevosyan to demonstrate that he is a good reader and likes books a lot. In spite of this he has built a construction near the children’s library and closes its fire protection door, which is very dangerous for the library. Now the “citadel” is protected from the library staff with the help of this dog. By the way, this is not the only house he owns; he also has a house in Aygedzor district, on 2 Baghramyan st.
