They didn’t demonstrate a good will

02/04/2006

Yesterday during the elections of the Yerevan State University rector no one could get the necessary number of votes, which is 37. The elections lasted about eight hours and were divided in three stages, where the management council of the university consisting of 72 members couldn’t elect anyone. This means that elections will once again take place in fifty days. According to students and professors of the university, it is a pity that the council representatives couldn’t demonstrate a good will to elect a rector because as they said, it is quite possible that in the nearest future the administration will make a choice themselves and will elect a rector that will not be a representative of the university.
