Head of Armenian film makers’ union Ruben Gevorgyan has been appointed the “Hayfilm” director. According to share-holder of “Hayfilm” (CS-films) Bagrat Sargsyan, vice-director of “Armenia TV” Ruben Hovhannisyan will be appointed as executive director of “Hayfilm”. Mr. Gevorgyan says that the company will not produce soap operas and commercially profitable movies, but rather will help get the Armenian movies out into the international market. According to R. Gevorgyants, the state budget is not going to provide any financial support to make films. It is worth to mentioning that last year “Hayfilm” was sold to “Armenia Studios” CJSC for 350 million dram ($777.7), which is a part of CS Media City holding. The main shareholders of the holding are the Cafesjians and Sargsyans.
