There will be an increase in the number of dangerous substances in the
Getar river if the polluted water of the “Rusalka” open-air cafe
located in the circular park flows there. According to sources, the
“Rusalka” open-air park belongs to Minister of Ecological Issues Vartan
Ayvazyan. A band has been hired to play in the park to make it look
more attractive. The cafes close to the park have complained against
this because of the noise. The band has stopped playing and the cafe
eventually closed. Obviously, “Rusalka” wasn’t able to serve many
customers. After “Rusalka” closed, the Ministry of Ecological Issues
and the city council have done some follow-ups on the neighboring
cafes. The closing of his cafe has greatly hurt the Minister
business-wise. The residents of the nearby apartments say that they see
the minister’s driver cleaning his car there every morning. The cafe
looks really messy. Vartan Ayvazyan informed “168 hours” weekly that
his cafe has been closed since August and that he has nothing to do
with that territory. As for the complaints made by the residents, V.
Ayvazyan said: “That is a lie. First of all, there is no apartment
building near Getar, it is only the Ministry building. I know for a
fact that the residents of our building have not complained.” The
Minister said that other cafes fill Getar with dangerous substances and
that he has the corresponding documents about that. “My cafe was the
only one that had a certificate for sanitary experiments”, affirmed the
Minister of Ecological Issues. What remained unclear was why there are
no resources for preventing such cases.
