New department to investigate trafficking

04/03/2006

According to our well-informed sources recently a new department was founded on the base of the RA general prosecutor’s order, which is to investigate the information about trafficking talked about in the peace. Some public prosecutor’s office and customs service officials are suspected to be involved in trafficking. In case of finding any violations the officials will be judged. These kinds of cases were also reported by the US Department of the State in 2004, 2005. According to our information, this department consists of the deputy to the general prosecutor on corruption issues Mihran Minasyan, the head of the organizational and control department Gagik Avetisyan, the prosecutor’s first assistant Hovhannes Stepanyan, the deputy to the NA inspection group Gegham Gasparyan and the head of the prime-minister’s revision department Ashot Sedrakyan.
