Karabakh will participate

28/02/2006

Recently the president of Karabakh, Arkadi Ghukasyan announced that there is only one way for Karabakh to take part in the negotiation process: if Armenia ceases its participation in the negotiation process with Azerbaijan. Yesterday the RA foreign affairs minister gave some explanations regarding this. “There was a period when the approach of Armenia was the following: Armenia will agree with any agreement that is reached between Azerbaijan and Karabakh. But at that time we received such suggestions that went against the interests of Armenia. It is also evident that other countries relate to recognized countries in a different way than to those that are not recognized. And since Armenia set foot in the process of negotiations there are suggestions that can be discussed. The parties have agreed that after reaching an agreement on the principles of the conflict regulation Karabakh will take part in the process of discussing the details of the agreement”, says Mr. Oskanyan. Please note that Karabakh wants to take part just in the process of reaching an agreement on the principles of the conflict regulation.
