3538 types of medicines are registered and are sold in Armenia. According to the decision of RA Government the registration of reproduced medicines costs 900.000 AMD, registration of each medicine prescription is 450.000 AMD and each medicine portion is 250.000 AMD. The same process costs incomparably lower in the neighboring Georgia – equivalent to $400. Therefore Georgia is the most profitable country to cooperate with for people who are in medicine business. The unregistered brands of medicines in the Armenian market don’t get registered due to bureaucracy and high charges. The “Vaga Farm” Company, which imports medicine, brought a court suit against the Ministry of Healthcare of RA blaming them of hindering the functioning of the company.
