“We Can Cut The Roots Easily By Enlisting”

24/07/2005

“France, being one of the trusted countries of the European Union,
forbids Jehovah’s witnesses from carrying out their actions. In
contrast to the French, we enlisted them in our country and made a big
deal out of the whole thing when we have other issues.” Prime Minister
Andranik Markaryan, who has prevented the enlistment of Jehovah’s
witnesses for four continuous years, came to the following conclusion
in response to the above mentioned statement by deputy of the “Azgayin
Miabanutyun” (National Unity) party Aghasi Arshakyan: “We have to go
ahead and ban the Jehovah’s witnesses’ sect through the means of
enlistment. We have to create some conditions, so when one of them goes
against the law, we can eliminate them in the framework of that law.”
According to the Prime Minister, the government has joined forces with
the department of religion issues in implementing that goal and is
seeking public support. Deputy Arshakyan responded: “I fully
understand. By enlisting the witnesses we can cut the roots faster. The
totalitarian sects don’t belong in our country”.
