The City Council of Yerevan changed the meaning of the ALM TV Company (located on Komitas 59) from public to productive. The change was made based on 2608-A decision as of November 25, 2005. This decision was the basis for the State of the Real Estate Cadastre of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun communities to re-evaluate the price of the 200 million 527 thousand AMD building and made it worth only 28 million 947.500 AMD – about $65000. What’s the purpose of this re-evaluation? If Tigran Karapetyan decides to sell his 5-floor 2024 square/meter building he will demand more than $65000 or $100000. The tricky thing is that prior to the mentioned decision of the City Council Karapetyan used to pay 600.000 AMD annually for property tax and after the re-evaluation this amount became 86.000 AMD for 2006, 2007, 2008. God knows what is being produced in that building. Maybe, when he said product, Mr. Karapetyan meant the diamond and emerald singers. It’s hard to tell. And it’s even harder to find out why the City Council re-evaluated the building 7-8 times less for only one word- “product”. Anyway, we tried to get information from Karapetyan himself about the evaluation of the building and why it turned from public to productive company.
“I bought the building 5 years ago and don’t remember how much I paid”, said Mr. Karapetyan during the phone conversation. “Where do you know this from? Why are you interested? Is this some kind of secret? How will you like it I get interested in you too and broadcast you live? Besides, if you’re interested in something send me a letter. I won’t say anything”.
