Yesterday Artashes Geghamyan denied the rumors that his colleague from their party, Aghasi Arshakyan stopped counting the votes during the closed election for the ombudsman’s position after his calls. But he also didn’t deny that these calls had come from the general public prosecutor’s office, i.e. the caller was Aghvan Hovsepyan: “Upon leaving, Aghasi Arshakyan called me and said that due to some reasons he had to leave and that some people called him and were pressuring him. He just said that he couldn’t continue working under such conditions. Taking into account his situation I told him that he was right. Later after getting some more information I called him back and asked him to go back and continue his work. He was in a very bad situation, he was confused and left”, said Artashes Geghamyan. As for the rumors claiming that the caller was Artashes Geghamyan, he said: “I assure you that there is no one and no political power that can frighten me and stop me from expressing my opinions. I didn’t have to call him, I could tell him this beforehand. In this situation it is easier for me to tell you the information I have now, but I think I shouldn’t do that, because some people may fall into a bad situation, besides, I don’t want to make Aghasi Arshakyan feel bad; after all, he is a newly elected member of the “National Unity””. We asked him what he thought about the fact that the member of his party, Aghasi Arshakyan and the ex member of their party, Napoleon Azizyan were under Aghvan Hovsepyan’s control: “I think this is good of the NU, because if the general public prosecutor personally pressures a simple member of our party, this means that it is hard for them to lay a finger on our board”.
