Expedient mistake

We wrote about the free economy level index of 2006 published by “Heritage Foundation” in our previous publication, according to which Armenia has succeeded by 15 points compared to last year and now places 27th. We wrote that it was a pity that it wasn’t a pre-election period so it could be presented as a new achievement, but the solution was found by the trade and economical development minister Karen Chshmarityan. They wrote this index in the “Resume” section of their statement presented to the prime minister. They presented it to journalists too. It is worth to mention that near this mark it is written that the highest marks were given to “the international investments” and to “the prices and salaries”. We noted that the highest mark in the statement wasn’t given to “the salaries and prices”, but to “the banking system”, and Mr. Chshmarityan agreed with us and said that this was a technical mistake. At first it seems that this mistake doesn’t “hurt anyone”, but actually the banking system has no relations with the ministry of Chshmarityan (the Central Bank can be proud of this).
