The head of the International Crisis Group (ICG) Caucasus program Sabina Fraser has announced that Armenia will agree to take their military powers out of some territories until the final clarification of the status of Karabakh is reached. “My approach is based on the base of the opinions of Armenian officials and as well as on the base of the public view”, said Sabina Fraser in her interview given to “Azatutjun” radio station. She also said: “After the Prague process was started the parties have passed a long way and now are not far from the solution, but they have to take several serious steps with the purposes of making some compromises”. According to her Armenia still doesn’t agree to return Kelbajar and Lachin, and Karabakh denies the suggestion to decide the status of Karabakh by public vote. “First of all they must decide when the occupied territories are going to be returned, what kind of security guarantees the parties will get and how they will solve the problem of the status of Karabakh. But it is difficult to say whether this agreement will be reached in the planned period in February or not”, says Sabina Fraser.
