Yesterday deputy-mayor of Yerevan Arman Sahakyan announced that from January 1st, 2006 the retail sale of fuel, technical liquids, gas, and pressured gas by mobile means will be forbidden in Yerevan. All the entrepreneurs have been warned about this. Besides this, from January 1st it is planned to conduct periodic strict supervision on trade service in order to maintain the provisions of the law. “This also concerns the street commerce. Although the local governments have wide powers in that sphere all that is going to be enacted by law. According to this law, the local governments in the aspect of conducting functions are accountable to the territorial governance bodies – to the mayor in Yerevan and to the marzpet (regional heads) in marzes (regions)”, informed Mr. Sahakyan. According to the mayor’s decision, in the framework of regulating street trade a new arcade of trade booths will be opened on the last days of September. It will consist of 33 trade points. As a result of the agreement between Arabkir community and the Police the street trade will also be prevented through supervision. The project based on the decision of regulating Komitas avenue will also be ratified this week.
