Sixty five cases of car theft were registered in Armenia within 9 months in 2005. In the mentioned period, due to the results of operative and investigative work of RA police officers, 34 cars were found in Armenia, which had been stolen in the “Interpol” European member countries. Within the nine months of the current year the RA police officers have managed to inspect 9715 cars that had been imported to Armenia. As a result of this inspection 48 cars (which were internationally being searched) were found and 15 cars had the number of the engine changed in order to conceal the theft.
